[ChatAction] Internet Activism and Organizing

Hi again, People –

Thanks again for energy and participation.  I did get a couple of people from “Chat Admin” to respond to the broadcast of this current Skillset survey, and I put together a brief “report” which shows how this system works for a user.

The important points are

*	The entire survey can be broadcast by email to a large audience
*	The email survey contains automated links that enable to recipient to sign in to the survey with one click, without remembering their password or having to navigate to the survey (“click the big red button”!)
*	We are organizing fast and easy ways to view the survey results – who answered which question or selected which option, and what did they say?  How many said that?
*	This can be a powerful way to organize a community grounded in enlightened democracy – we can vote on everything and build common ground across all differences and “diversity”
*	What do we agree on?  Let’s find out and build from there…

It’s true that email broadcast these days faces strong opposition from spam filters and from general cognitive overload.  Most people today are somewhat dazed by the sheer amount of information coming at them and it can be difficult or impossible to hold their attention..  It we want to build a comprehensive and influential network running on the internet, we have to face and overcome this issue – to the degree we’re able.

There is a tremendous amount of competition.  Hundreds of things people can be doing, hundreds of different systems they can be using.

For at least a few things – we want them to “build community” through a highly democracy-and-enlightenment grounded framework.

I do think we can “inspire the world” – as Humanity rising has inspired the world.   But obviously it’s a tall order, and will take some sustained endurance and persistence.  Any help from you guys much appreciated.

Good morning People!

Just wanted to respond to Malini – and to the spirit of this big moment in the world as we move into the next year.

Yesterday was a very strong day in my world.  I got so much done – and I want to keep moving on this track.

This “survey/polling” framework seems to be working very well, and it’s getting quite elegant and easy to use.

In the spirit of building teamwork – which is probably our major objective here on ChatAction – I am going to send all members of “Chat Admin” the current version of the “My Skillset” questionnaire, which was modelled on Malini’s original survey monkey  framework.

In the spirit of moving forward with real internet-based activism – I would encourage everyone who receives this poll in email to actually complete it.  Click the “Big Red Respond Button” and go through the questions.  You can do it in no time, and your data will be essential to advancing teamwork where the big issue is “How can we clearly work together as a unified team when in many ways we are so diverse?”

I also have a report/user guide on how this system works – a Word.docx file which I will probably post here today.

But please – be responsive.  Click.  Hit the target.  Make it happen.
