I did get a couple of people from “Chat Admin” to respond to the broadcast of this current Skillset survey, and I put together a brief “report” which shows how this system works for a user.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The important points are<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><ul style='margin-top:0in' type=disc><li class=MsoListParagraph style='margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>The entire survey can be broadcast by email to a large audience<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoListParagraph style='margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>The email survey contains automated links that enable to recipient to sign in to the survey with one click, without remembering their password or having to navigate to the survey (“click the big red button”!)<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoListParagraph style='margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>We are organizing fast and easy ways to view the survey results – who answered which question or selected which option, and what did they say? How many said that?<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoListParagraph style='margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>This can be a powerful way to organize a community grounded in enlightened democracy – we can vote on everything and build common ground across all differences and “diversity”<o:p></o:p></li><li class=MsoListParagraph style='margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>What do we agree on? Let’s find out and build from there…<o:p></o:p></li></ul><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>It’s true that email broadcast these days faces strong opposition from spam filters and from general cognitive overload. Most people today are somewhat dazed by the sheer amount of information coming at them and it can be difficult or impossible to hold their attention.. It we want to build a comprehensive and influential network running on the internet, we have to face and overcome this issue – to the degree we’re able.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>There is a tremendous amount of competition. Hundreds of things people can be doing, hundreds of different systems they can be using.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>For at least a few things – we want them to “build community” through a highly democracy-and-enlightenment grounded framework.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I do think we can “inspire the world” – as Humanity rising has inspired the world. But obviously it’s a tall order, and will take some sustained endurance and persistence.
