In 2006 I visited the Biosphere project 2 in Tuscon Arizona . It was an
amazing experience but it also failed because they used concrete to build
the entire project and one of the theories was that the concrete and the
soil bacteria started giving out carbondioxide and the 4 scientists who
were locked inside had to come out.
The project is still a tourist centre and worth a visit.
But this project is similar but on a whole different level. Amazing how
that barren clay mine was converted to what you see here.
This is truly regenerative technology. There are so many mines around the
world that could be transformed like this ,
May be not as this type of project but even become community centres. and
living spaces.
