[ChatAction] Duane Elgin - Choosing Earth

Have downloaded the books and will read.
Ive watched the trailer. Well I have my views on that.
Im looking to see if I can find a movie called "HOME"  on line. when I find
the movie I will certainly share.

I used that movie as an introduction to all the sessions I used to teach. (
I was a visiting professor for ENvironmental Sciences in a few universities
and colleges.)  This is because in December of 1999 the supreme court of
India directed all universities and  affiliated colleges and independent
educational institutions to introduce environmental education as a
mandatory module in their curriculum. And in compliance with that order
many activists and experts in various fields were called upon to create a
course and a curriculum to deliver lectures on environment. ( I happened to
be one of them and developed and delivered a 12 weeks program consisting of
2 lectures twice a week in some universities ).
Anyway it was not until August of 2014 that the University Grants
Commission came up with a six months module syllabus to be mandatorily
introduced in all the universities and colleges across the country. So from
then on till 2017 I taught that syllabus.

To be brutally frank on the subject my apologies in advance on this rant :
Its about the narrative that I'm finding in almost all the forums.
-  My whole take on the current save the earth movement is a classic case
of a spoilt child " me a culpa!!!!" wanting every one else to solve a
problem it has created.  That is the "I want". "I need" ,"My way is the
best way". " What I say goes" narrative that caused the problem in the
first place is now looking for a "WE" to solve it and make it right. But it
doesnt want to put in the effort to change but is happy to pontificate and
expect the rest of the world to answer its call to action. All the movies
Ive seen on the subject including the trailer of  Duane Elgin - Is white
and mostly american  and male perspective, With a few women thrown in for
effect, but all singing the same story.
Just listen to the World Economic Forum talks, interviews and videos and
you will see in which direction this spoilt child is going. It still
refuses to accept it is the problem not the rest of the world. It now wants
an industrial revolution 4,0 to pacify it.

I think it's time we call a spade a spade. if we have to make a difference
and see a new world emerge.

Which is why Ive put together a list of over 6000 organisations working on
these issues. Stan will be making this list available on othernetworks.
If we really want to make a difference , it needs for us to work as a team,
reach out to those organisations in countries other than USA,UK and Europe
and listen to them, find out what they are doing and also to engage with
them in dialogue.
