Hi Bruce & Stan. I believe some confusion exists as to what we are attempting to achieve through our Peace week. We are not attempting to become another Peace organization. We do not wish to function as an umbrella organization. We are replacing the earlier term “Department of Peace” with the Peace Labyrinth.

Our premise is that we, as a civilization, can no longer afford to define and enact Peace using the paradigm that we have been applying for centuries. We are seeking a NEW DEFINITION of Peace. And with this new definition will come a new way of bringing it about. We are on a quest to uncover this new definition as a mystery that is waiting to be solved. We do not believe that any one definition in play today is it – if it were – there would be no need to sponsor a week dedicated to discovering it :).

Good morning.  Just wanted to chime in behind Stan’s comment about many peace organizations.

It might have been twenty years ago that a very nice well-intentioned guy and his wife got all excited about internet possibilities and formed something he called “Peace Umbrella” – which was going to bring all the peace organizations together.  He had some beautiful high-quality t-shirts printed and sent me a couple.  He was so excited and positive.

His beautiful project died very quickly.  Dream meets reality.  But there are still lots of good art offerings connecting peace and umbrella.

Actually – what organizational development people have learned, most long ago, is that nobody wants to be contained under somebody else’s “umbrella organization”

And another obvious point – is that groups that have worked for years to develop a database of members are very unlikely to share that database.  This is delicate stuff.

We need some powerful angle (?) that brings in the hundreds of factors that we have been cataloguing through our list of HR webinars.

I myself vote for “oneness” and a revolutionary model of the new world and the new paradigm.  Spectrum=Big Table.
